More About Munroe House YWCA Vancouver

The YWCA Metro Vancouver has three second stage transition houses for women leaving abuse from an intimate partner, and for their children.  YWCA Munroe House, in Vancouver, was the first second stage program in Canada and has 10 units.  YWCA Arbour House in Surrey has 8 units, and YWCA Eyrie House opened in December 2019 providing an additional 15 units. Families can stay for up to 2 years.

These programs ensure that women have a safe place to rebuild their lives.  Staff provide emotional support, advocacy, court accompaniment, information and referrals.  They work with women on safety planning, and help them to find permanent affordable housing.

It's challenging to start over, and one of the ways to support women on this journey is with children's clothing.  We have children of all ages and clean items in good repair are much appreciated.
